We play for free at fundraising and charity events, and sometimes to raise cash for Fresh Start Surgical Gifts of Carlsbad. Our members are from all over San Diego County and we're always looking for talented musicians and singers who want to perform. There is no cost to join or participate.
I started Varsity Strings for musicians who want to play music that's FUN!
Such as - JAZZ, FOLK, ROCK and BLUES!
We play songs by artists we like and know, like Bob Dylan and Jorma Kaukonen. Blues. Folk music. Classic jazz and rock. We play our own songs, improvise, jam and learn music from each other. We share what our music teachers tell us, but have learned more playing for audiences than any teacher could have taught!
People started offering us money to play at their events, so we've chosen an amazing all-volunteer local charity, Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, that our money goes to when we make some.
